First released in the early 2000s, the premium Palomino line was a tribute to the Blackwing 602 pencil that quickly became a cult favourite in the early 20th century.
With the original Eberhard Faber Blackwing sadly discontinued in the early 1990s, pencil fanatics were paying as much as $40 per pencil on eBay, leading the company we know today as Blackwing to create a pencil worthy of the legendary name. The Palomino line was met with such enthusiasm that, in 2010, the company officially brought the classic Blackwing 602 pencil back to life.
This new entry in the Blackwing Eras line pays tribute to the Palomino that became a turning point in pencil history. Recreating the signature Palomino Blue body, complemented by its iconic gold ferrule and stripe, this Eras release celebrates an important stepping stone that would go on to transform the stationery world, and breathe new life into a classic.
