This is because instead of a cap, it has an integrated clip-push mechanism that makes for extremely swift selection. When the clip is pressed to extend the rollerball tip, the clip itself retracts into a slot in the shaft.
When the top of the clip is pressed, however, the rollerball tip disappears inside the body and the clip returns to its original position.
The LAMY Tipo can once again be clipped onto a jacket pocket without any risk of stains.
